Museum Adventure Passes Available

As the weather improves and more of us are vaccinated, you may be looking to get out and explore.

The library offers free or discounted passes to many Chicago-area museums and zoos.

Passes are good for one week from the day they are issued and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no need to return the pass once you are finished with it. Only one pass may be issued per adult library card.

We are accepting donations!

The library is again accepting donations. Please think of us as you do your spring cleaning. 🙂

What can I donate?

We will gladly accept paperback or hardcover books (including college textbooks) in good condition, as well as DVDs, CDs, or video games.

We are unable to accept:

  • newspapers and magazines
  • encyclopedias
  • coloring books
  • books that have been wet, even if they have dried out. (They will grow mold.)
  • books with smoke or pet smell
  • VHS or cassette tapes

What will happen to the things I donate?

If the item aligns with our Collection Development Policy and is needed by the library, we may choose to add it to the collection. In other circumstances, it will be sold to a used book dealer or responsibly recycled.
