Curbside Services

The library offers Curbside Services the following days and times:
• Mondays-Thursdays 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-7 p.m.
• Fridays & Saturdays 1-4 p.m.

Requests for items may be made online via SWAN or via email [ref.ssch@gmail.com] or phone [708-755-5040].

Q: I returned something a few days ago but it is still showing up on my account. What’s going on?
A: All items are quarantined for at least three days before we check them in, based on current RAILS policy. But don’t worry: it won’t be marked overdue. If you returned your item more than a week ago, give us a call and we’ll look into it.

Q: Can I order items from others libraries or things that haven’t been released yet?
A: Yes! You can order items by:
• logging in to your SWAN account
• using the SWAN Libraries app for Android or iOS
• calling us
• sending us a Facebook message
• emailing us

Q: Can I pay with a credit card?
A: Unfortunately, we only accept cash or check.

Q: Can I print something?
A: Yes! Email your project (stegerlibrary@gmail.com) with your name and phone number. We will call to let you know we have received the job and printed it successfully. You can pick it up during our curbside hours. We delete your email after it is successfully printed, so you don’t need worry about keeping copies of anything personal. Black and white printing is $0.10 a page and color printing is $0.25 a page.

Q: Can I make copies?
A: We can make copies for you during our curbside hours. Black and white copies are $0.10 a page and color copies are $0.25 a page.

Q: Can I send a fax?
A: We can send faxes for you during our curbside hours. Faxing is $1/page. We also recommend asking the person you are faxing if they are willing to receive your document by email instead, because we can scan your document and email it to you for free.

Q: Can I get a library card?
A: Yes! Click here to fill out an online library card application, then email us (laura@sschlibrary.org) a picture or scan of your driver’s license or state ID with your current Steger or South Chicago Heights address. We will contact you to let you know when your new card is ready, and your new card can be picked up during curbside hours or mailed to you.
