Adult Services at the Library

Everything we do for you — inside the library or out…

CIRCULATION SERVICES

Our circulation specialists can assist you in many ways at the Circulation Desk. There, you can check materials in and out, pay finesrequest an item through Interlibrary Loan, send and receive faxes. You can also ask for basic computer and copier help, and sign-up for adult programs. Our circulation staff can also answer direct reference questions, help you to find books on our shelves, direct you to other items and services in the library, and take applications for and make library cards.

HOMEBOUND DELIVERY SERVICE

Delivery services are available for residents of Steger or South Chicago Heights who cannot leave their home due to disability or illness. To learn more, please call us at 708-755-5040 and ask to speak with Laura.

SCANNING & FAXING SERVICE

You can bring in your paperwork, photos or more, and staff can email them to you or save to your flash drive. There is no charge for the scanning service.

The library also offers faxing service available for $1 for the service, plus $1/page. You can also receive faxes at the library for $.10/page.

NOTARY SERVICE

Public Notary Services are available at the library. If you have a current Steger-South Chicago Heights Public Library card, this service is free. If you do not have a current Steger-South Chicago Heights Public Library card, this service is $2.  Notary availability is limited, so please call.

REFERENCE ASSISTANCE

Our Adult Services Coordinator can help with all your reference questions related to the Adult collection, help you to order items through Interlibrary Loan and OCLC. We also offer adult programming throughout the year and a Summer Reading Program for adults.
